Hello! I’m Dr. Denisse Broadbent—also known in the community as Dr. B. I’m a board-certified MD pediatrician, with over 8 years of experience in pediatrics here in the U.S., and more than a decade in medicine. But more importantly, I am a mom of three energetic little ones (two boys and one sweet baby girl), and someone who deeply understands the emotional and cultural significance of ear piercing.

For those who don’t know me, I’m originally from Ecuador, where ear piercing in baby girls is a common and meaningful tradition. I wanted only the safest and most hygienic option for my own daughter. After extensive research, I chose to train with Blomdahl Medical Ear Piercing—a system developed by doctors, focused on safety and hygiene, and used exclusively by trained medical professionals.

Now, I’m happy to offer this service in our community to families who want the peace of mind that comes with having their child’s ears pierced by a pediatrician.

Piercing is a minor procedure, but it’s still a break in the skin, which can introduce risks if not done properly.

Nickel-Free to Prevent Allergies

Nickel allergies are one of the most common jewelry-related issues. While only 2% of people are born with a nickel allergy, that number can jump to 25% (1 in 4) when exposed through piercing with nickel-containing earrings.

That’s why I only use:

Medical Grade Plastic earrings (guaranteed 0% nickel)

Medical Grade Titanium earrings (nickel-free and hypoallergenic)

Both are developed with dermatologists (skin specialists) and are safe for sensitive skin which is why they are ideal for children.

Who Can Get Pierced?

I currently offer piercing for:

Babies between 3 months and 12 months

Children ages 4 years and older

Why not toddlers (ages 1–3)?

This age group tends to touch or tug on their ears more often, increasing the risk of irritation or infection. I find that babies and older children tolerate and care for their piercings much better.

For babies, I ask that they have received at least their 2-month DTaP vaccine (which protects against tetanus) before scheduling.

Medical Considerations

Because piercing involves skin healing, please talk to your child’s primary provider before scheduling if your child has:

Skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis)

Diabetes or poor wound healing

Immune system issues

Blood clotting concerns

MRSA/VRE or antibiotic resistance

A history of keloids

An implant or prosthetic device

Hepatitis, HIV, epilepsy, or other chronic conditions

As you know, I’m a board-certified full time community pediatrician, and have now started offering medical ear piercing on the side, with a magical twist ✨

Price depends on the earring of choice. we offer only hypoallergenic, nickel-free earrings — either titanium ($150) or medical plastic ($130). Both are beautiful and sparkly! Single ear piercing is 75$.

We come to you — at your home, on your time (Typically tuesdays or weekends).

Each client picks their own tiara before we start.

We play their favorite song to make the moment joyful.

A sensory fidget is offered to keep little hands calm and busy, which they get to keep.

The earrings used for the piercing—and all of our jewelry—are manufactured in Sweden and must meet strict FDA and European safety regulations, ensuring the highest quality and safety for sensitive skin.

Because the full healing process can take up to a year, we also offer hypoallergenic earrings to change into after 6 weeks (available for an additional cost of 35-50$ depending on the type of earring), so your child can continue to wear safe, nickel-free jewelry as they grow.

We focus not just on safety and comfort, but on creating a fun, memorable milestone your child will treasure, which is the part I enjoy the most.
